| The new health facility will include space for administration, health promotion, disease prevention, clinic, emergency services facility and a critical access hospital. The facility will benefit the entire segment of the tribal population. It will serve as the principal facility for the delivery of health education, wellness, and acute and emergency care. | The Tribe has utilized many of USDA Rural Developments loan/grant programs to secure adequate funding for their facilities projects. There is no Wellness or Fitness type facility on the Rocky Boy Reservation at this time. The Wellness Center will include equipment and space for exercise and health related activity. Also included are a new gymnasium and swimming pool, as well as two large rooms equipped with treadmills and cardio exercise equipment. The facility will benefit the entire segment of the tribal population. It will serve as the principal facility for the delivery of exercise, wellness, and fitness activity on the reservation The current health facility is an extremely small building. constructed in 1973 for a service population of 1,200. The population for the reservation at this time is nearly 5,000. The current structure, with the advent of age and excessive use, is in extremely poor condition. |
